This Herkimer Diamond comes in it's own display
case. It's shown in the photo below, wish it would
have photographed better.
It has a interesting shape and a large well defined key
mark. A key mark is recognized by a geometric pattern
that is usually three or six-sided. It's the impression
where it grew against another crystal, but didn't attach.
The keyed crystal grew at a later date, around the
original crystal, the step-like pattern indicating the
growth pattern. Photos above clearly show the
key. We're including a 10x loupe to fully appreciate
it.
Internally clean and water clear, it's an unusual Herkimer
Diamond specimen.
