Both these unusual quartz crystals are water clear. Sizes and descriptions:
- Sometimes we come across a crystal and just say 'wow'. The size and clarity of the Herkimer Diamond shown in the photographs above is striking. It measures 23x21x10.75 mm.
Amid a group of clear external marks, extends a small crystal point. It measures about 6.5 mm with fair clarity. With a loupe a key mark is seen covering the entire length of this smaller crystal.
The double terminations are complete, one very sharp and well defined.
Near one end lays a phenomenal growth interference. Something caused a hesitation in growth, and the crystal continued growing, sealing over the occurrence. This transparent area strikes a vivid rainbow. It's so strong two of the photos captured it, most unusual. Fantastic to look at.
- The other unusual quartz featured is a tabby crystal. A well defined water clear point that measures 21.5x14.25x7 mm (pictured below). A ”tabby” or tabular quartz crystal is recognized as a flat crystal, usually with etching or notches (major striations) on one side. Metaphysically inclined persons will be interested to know that the tabby is carried to enhance communication, creativity, smooth energy flow and integration of ideas and balance.
While the crystal is complete, it's a shame one tip is riddled with key marks. These key marks are imprints left on the surface of the crystal, where it grew in close proximity to another crystal.
An added bonus of a right activation facet, measuring about 3 mm, is present on one side.
This is a one of a kind set of unusual water clear quartz crystals. |
